Sweet SIXTYeen

February 24, 2011

My Dad's 60th. When my Dad turned 59 last year, he told us it that 9 is a bad luck number (Chinese superstitions), he declared himself 60 last year so that makes him 61 this year. But technically, he is still 60. Confusing, I know. That's why I call myself the biggest Chinese poser. I neglected myself from Chinese beliefs.

Happy Birthday Dad-that-I-doubt-will-ever-read-this-post-even-for-the-next-gazillion-years! Hooray!

Mom, my little brother Baron with her friends and tutor and Mom's improvised photobooth! Don't laugh.
My sister's friends Bert and Min Seun
Minseun and my sister
A pretending-to-not-know-there's-a-camera, Lauren.
Do you see why we're bestfriends?

Flashback Project # 7: Awit Ng Kabataan

September 11, 2010

Rivermaya's lead guitarist, Mike Elgar. A shot I took during my short stay for a workshop by Ms. Nina Sandejas. It was my first time as a gig photographer and I remember feeling like God.

Food, drinks, and conversations

February 19, 2010

To celebrate our success for a project that turned out to be not-so-little (see March 19 post), we decided to gather up at Patrick's house for food, music, some drinks and priceless conversations.

Nothing beats a good time with a few new found friends! Shoutout to Nicole, Mau, Teena, Moe and Patrick!
More of these irie hangouts please!

Flashback Project #6: Fashion Vomit

September 11, 2010
This was one random day at work at the House Of Laurel for a models casting.
I love how this photo depicts our individual style. The "High Fashion", "Laidback boho", "Simple chic", and "Indie rock".

Vintage haven

My friend Marita introduced me to this hidden thrift shop along South. I didn't even know that place existed. I got a lot of amazing finds!

I felt like a kid in a candy store! I rarely go shopping here. I just go shopping either thrift shopping or if I'm out of the country. I love the satisfaction of smart buying when I go thrift shopping. It gives me that satisfaction rather than buying in the malls. Also, I finally found a black maxi skirt I've been looking for! Love.

Let's just say, all these items were less than Php400! Ha!

Youngsters at Work

December 21, 2010

A couple of months ago, my friend Patrick gathered a couple of people to be his style team for this project he joined. He asked me to style for one of the categories. Of course, who am I to decline? Well basically, it's a contest where you submit a proposed design for this product and whoever wins will get a price money, a re-shoot with the great photographer, Niccolo Cosme, and a billboard of the work.

Flashback Project # 4: Kids

June 4, 2010
Me and my bestfriend Rian at our friend's 18th party. I love how random this shot is...there's 3 different people doing 3 different things. Ha!
This was back then when I'm not as socially awkward in parties as I am today. Hahaha. I've come to a recent realization that wild parties + making out + Pitbull/Akon music + touching bodies are not my thing. Other than those, all is forgiven.

Kelly Cutrone is my HERO

I was checking my daily dose of Twitter as usual. I saw a tweet from @peoplesrev (Kelly Cutrone), I decided to give her a simple tweet expressing how much I love her. Expecting the usual ignored tweets form celebrities...guess what? She tweeted back! I seriously did not believe what I was seeing! I literally stared at it for a minute or two.

I know it's not that big of a deal but it's freaking KELLY CUTRONE! She is my all-time inspiration (career wise).
You don't know who Kelly Cutrone is? You're a waste of human life. I kid...

(Source: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com)

Kelly Cutrone is a fashion publicist and the founder of the public relations, branding and marketing firm People's Revolution.
Her ruthless work ethic is the result of hard-learned lessons. In the mid-’90s, she divorced her first husband, gave up half of her PR firm, tossed her party wigs and fled to Topanga, Calif., where she conquered her drug addiction and became a spiritual warrior. After reading tarot cards in Santa Monica and working for the Psychic Network, she gradually made her way back to PR.
Now the 44-year-old is the head of People’s Revolution — with offices in L.A., New York and Paris — as well as the star of the new reality series “Kell on Earth” and the author of “If You Have to Cry Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You,” a book she describes as a “call to arms” for women and gay men. T caught up with her before fashion week.

You're welcome! I just saved you Google time!

Flashback Project #3: The Starship has landed!

March 26, 2010
Me and my friend Anica watched Cobra Starship in Greenbelt. We were pretty much party crashers because we didn't have tickets. But look where we're at! The barricade!!

Ok, I lied. This was after the show...we didn't wanna scoot in with the screaming tweens anyway. (As seen in pic) Ha!
