Vintage Haven v.2

I went to the same thrift shop from my last post but this time I went with my friend Brix since she wanted to check it out.

A found a lot of vintage pieces that I had in mind. Don't you just love that polka dotted maxi dress? I don't care if it's for maternity, it's pretty! Ha.
Although some of the clothes did not fit right, I can always sell them or give it to a friend who deserves all the sweat I've been through finding every piece of this thrift parade.

Escapism

Tagaytay, the nearest escape down South. Sometimes we all need a day to escape from the harsh reality. We need to forget all our dispositions in our daily life and transit to a life worth living. A life we all dreamt of.

Escapism is a habitual diversion of the mind to purely imaginative activity or entertainment as an escape from reality or routine.

Look back, shout, take a picture, play like a kid. Enjoy the goods of life...even just for a day.

Happy Mom's day!

Mom during the 80's
For this year, I gave her a unique book. A book with blank pages with a message written on the first page...

"Thoughts, feelings, stories, goals, dreams, random ramblings, unanswered questions...
share them all here. A feel good and healthy way of release.
This book wasn't made with blank pages for nothing...
Love,
Shob"

...with a letter bursting with cheese but real feelings attached to the book.

Honor your mom not only on May 8th but everyday.
Happy Mother's Day!

Hopkins x Bye

Fashion Drawing by John Hopkins and Fashion Design by Elizabeth Bye

Fashion Design by Elizabeth Bye is a core text designed to introduce undergraduate students to the central concepts of fashion design. Whereas fashion design is often considered entirely frivolous, this book considers the significant cultural, economic, and ethical issues that designers must balance to be effective in the global fashion industry. After looking at the history of fashion design, the book provides an overview of the conceptual process involved in developing a fashion line and bringing garments to the market. It looks at the impact of individual consumer characteristics as well as aesthetic, cultural, and economic influences on design. The book addresses a key topic in the new Understanding Fashion series. The contextual analysis of fashion design alongside critical cultural, economic, and ethical concerns sets this book apart from other texts on the same topic. Designed to aid teaching and learning, each chapter includes key definitions, summaries, case studies, discussion questions and suggestions for further reading. Using this book as a guide students will develop an understanding of fashion design that challenges stereotypes and encourages them to think creatively about issues and ideas that motivate them.

Basics Fashion Design: Fashion Drawing by John Hopkins presents a fresh perspective on the basic principles and practices of contemporary drawing styles, applied to a fashion context. The title takes a practical approach in describing the process of fashion drawing, offering advice on the selection of materials and media, through to their different uses and applications. It also considers the theory and history of fashion drawing, and the range of styles used by contemporary designers; from quick sketches to sophisticated digital pieces. This discussion is accompanied by interviews with designers and illustrators, a glossary, resources directory and templates.

It's pretty much books for basic knowledge and ideas  in fashion drawing. I felt the need to infest my mind with fashion design/drawing basics before I take my majors of Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Merchandising.
Any more book recommendations?

Behind the scenes: Friends and Lovers

BTS from our second shoot. This was at Patrick's dead uncle's apartment! Love it.
I'm currently obsessing on Incubus' new song "Friends and Lovers" hence the title.

"I've seen the porcelain shell...
Your exoskeleton.
And I feel like we'd walk well together
Because in the end, we are friends and lovers."
